Privacy Notice

Generic University of Medicine (GenMed) collects personal information from you to assess your application for admission to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program. The information you provide will include:

  • Your name and contact details (email, phone, address);
  • Your date of birth and gender;
  • Your citizenship and residency status;
  • Your government-issued photo identification or passport;
  • Your education history, transcripts, and academic results;
  • Your employment history;
  • Documents you upload in support of your application (for example, proof of citizenship or English-language evidence); and
  • If you progress to interview, your Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) result.

GenMed may also request other documents and follow-up information after reviewing your application.

GenMed shares the information you provide with the following parties for the purposes described:

  • Federation University Australia — the formal admitting institution. GenMed provides applicant information to Federation University so that successful applicants can be issued an offer of admission and enrolled as Federation students.
  • Selected service providers GenMed engages to support the application process — including identity-verification, interview-administration, and applicant-correspondence platforms. These providers act under contract and only handle information necessary for their function.

GenMed collects, uses, discloses, and handles your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other applicable Australian privacy and data protection laws. If you do not provide the requested information, GenMed may not be able to process your application.

Pathways and Bonuses

Later in your application you will be asked whether you wish to apply via the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander pathway, and whether you are eligible to claim a Rural Background bonus or a Healthcare Worker bonus. Both pathways and bonuses can affect how your application is ranked, so consider whether they apply to you before you submit.
